03/08/2014 Today brings mixed emotions. It’s time for the Annual Heart Run/Walk. I am ever so proud of our 10-yr old son, Dylan. He has walked by my side every year since he was 5-yrs old and since my cardiac arrest. Never once complains or ask why he has to be up at the crack of dawn to walk miles; he just knows this day has special meaning and we both rejoice in it. This morning we will be walking for all those that are defying the odds, those that cannot walk, and those that we honor. I am humbled by the love and support of family and friends that are in show of support today and those that continue to support RHF and our family through the peaks and valleys of heart disease. I will never say it is a gift but it is a teacher and it is why I am so passionate about giving back to our communities educating the importance of CPR, and about the installation of AEDs. With profound gratitude I say, thank YOU for being a part of this journey, for caring, for supporting and raising awareness with RHF, and for being proactive in saving lives of others. I thank god everyday that I am alive, healthy and here to watch our son grow up. I won life’s lottery and today we celebrate!
