The Rescue Heart Foundation began on the operating table of Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. Angela had been admitted for a cardiac procedure and when she went into a lethal arrhythmia causing her heart to stop beating, physicians immediately revived her with a defibrillator.
Upon recovery, Angela felt called to bring this life-saving equipment out of health care organizations and into the community. As Angela says, “when it comes to cardiac failure, seconds matter.”
The Rescue Heart Foundation was founded to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest from claiming lives. We are committed to teaching CPR, raising cardiac awareness, conducting heart screenings, and providing AEDs locally and globally in communities. Furthermore, it is our goal to provide a summer camp for children with cardiovascular disease.
